There Will Be Poetry : Pinecone

My life has always been very much interwoven with what I post here on Wyrd Words & Effigies, and it’s going to become even more so as my belly swells and my little shadow becomes a bigger shadow in my womb.

I wrote a poem about my ultrasound the other day. I find it easier to talk about the pregnancy through poetry…it does, as my friend, the novelist and poet Carmen Thompson (who has just had her first novel How Saints Die published) said when I told her, “Poetry is a great medium as it allows for the weirdness of it.”

I hope you enjoy this piece. There will be more.
